This Classic Mini Countryman Might Just Fit Inside a New Mini Countryman

1979 Austin Mini "Countryman"
-There was a time when Minis were small cars. While today, they generally aren’t much smaller than other cars in their market segment, this classic Countryman was made when Mini actually meant Mini.

-

First, we’d like to address the fact that this is not actually an original Countryman. Instead, best we can tell, it’s a 1979 Mini Clubman estate that has been transformed into a stunning replica of a 1961–69 Mini Countryman. According to the VIN, this Clubman was originally fitted with a 1098-cc engine, but it now sports a 1275-cc four-cylinder, which in stock form produces anywhere from 61 to 78 horsepower.

-The seller states that this vehicle has traveled a mere 16K miles, but probably more important is that the car was given a ground-up restoration in 2008. It gained a number of modifications along the way, including front fender flares, Ultralite wheels, and what appears to be an updated dash.

There’s no denying that this beautiful Mini is a reproduction, and as such some may find the $28,900 price tag excessive. For the right person, however, this could be the perfect remake of a timeless, mini, classic.
