Hikers 'Bearly' Escape Jaws of Death in Hyundai Super Bowl Ad

CARS.COM — The Chicago Bears aren't playing in the Super Bowl this year, but there still will be bears during the commercials. In Hyundai's new 30-second Super Bowl 50 spot, "The Chase," a pair of hikers has a close encounter of the furred kind and finds out just how useful the 2017 Elantra's voice-activated Blue Link remote-start feature can be.

As the man and woman flee through the forest with a pair of massive, growling grizzlies in hot pursuit, the man shouts, "Start my car!" into his smartwatch. The engine of his 2017 Elantra sedan fires up, and the hikers speed off to safety, leaving the bears behind to marvel at the technology and debate their intentions toward the humans: hug 'em or have 'em for dinner. Boy, poor Leonardo DiCaprio sure could've used an Elantra during his grisly encounter with that grizzly bear in "The Revenant."
