Lamborghini Planning Mysterious Supercar for 2016 Geneva Show

As with most exotic automakers, the Geneva auto show is hugely important to Lamborghini, and the Italian car company has debuted something of note at each of the past several events. Considering that Lamborghini officially sells just two basic models, the Huracán and the Aventador, that’s meant a bunch of one-off and special-edition models. This year, according to an Auto Express interview with the brand’s CEO, Lamborghini plans to go big.

According to CEO Stephan Winkelmann, Lamborghini “will unveil a car in Geneva,” and it will have “a coupe body style.” Furthermore, the car apparently will “initiate the celebration of the 100 years.” The centenary celebration will be in honor of Lamborghini’s founder, and the car, Auto Express opines, will be called the Centenario. The outlet also reports that 20 examples of the car will be produced and that top customers have already seen renderings.

Ferruccio Lamborghini indeed was born in April 1916—almost exactly 100 years prior to the 2016 Geneva show in March—but Lamborghini the sports-car company has existed only since 1963. Either way, we look forward to seeing what Lamborghini has planned for Geneva; if some of the firm’s previous efforts are any indication, it’s going to be quite wild.
