After re-assessing its sales strategy surrounding the awesome SRT Hellcat variants of the Challenger and Charger for 2016, and increasing production to discourage dealer markups, Dodge is laying out the cars’ new prices. And guess what? The cars are more expensive—quite a bit more expensive, in fact, offsetting somewhat any possible reduction in dealers’ overcharging for the ultra-popular models.

The 2016 Challenger SRT Hellcat will start at $65,190, $4200 more than last year’s model, while the four-door Charger SRT Hellcat sees a $3650 bump to $68,640. Dodge says that newly standard navigation and leather seats represent a $2490 value baked into the new prices, but that still leaves a little extra meat on the bone for the corporate coffers. It’s not exactly egregious, and along with the doubling of Hellcat production for the 2016 model year, it should help equalize Dodge’s supply of cars with consumers’ still-rabid demand for them. And besides, it’s not like you can find a 707-hp anything for similar money elsewhere!
