The Name’s DB9 GT Bond Edition—Aston Martin DB9 GT Bond Edition

Perhaps aware that some fans of both Aston Martin and James Bond might be feeling left out, unable to (officially) purchase one of the 10 special DB10 sports cars built for the upcoming Bond 007 Spectre movie, Aston has moved to fill the void. The stopgap, a DB9 GT Bond Edition, isn’t quite the stunner that the DB10 is, but it comes loaded with Aston Martin-ness and several Bond touches and silver paint named after the Spectre film.

Limited to just 150 examples worldwide, Aston Martin says the DB9 GT Bond Edition begins life as the recently introduced DB9 GT. A coat of Spectre Silver paint is applied, along with a set of 20-inch black-painted wheels with diamond-turned accents, aluminum hood and fender vents, and a carbon-fiber splitter and diffuser. The brake calipers are painted grey, and there are numbered door-sill plates with the famous Bond 007/gun logo; in fact, the gun stuff doesn’t end there—there are more gun logos embroidered on the hump between the rear seats. The only gun onboard that actually fires is the lusty 540-hp V-12 shared with other DB9 GTs, but assuredly owners can stash a Walther PPK somewhere for added danger.

Purchase a Bond Edition, and Aston Martin will throw in some appropriately luxe swag that’ll make you feel like the secret agent himself, including Globe Trotter luggage and an Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra “James Bond Limited Edition” watch, which alone retails for $7350.

For all that, the special-edition DB9 GT will cost $237,007 (notice those last three digits). And to think, a government agency buys Bond a few of these things . . . that he typically blows up or crashes.
