Vehicles affected by service bulletin:
- 2014 Kia Soul
- 2015 Kia Soul
The problem: Kia is updating these cars' airbag control unit software to ensure occupant safety in the event of a crash. The affected vehicles were manufactured between July 21, 2013, and Nov. 26, 2014.
Corrective action: Dealers will update the airbag control unit software.
Warranty info: This repair is being done free of charge under the new-car warranty.
What owners should do: Call your local dealer with your vehicle's identification number to determine if it's involved in this service bulletin. You can also call Kia directly at 800-333-4542 or NHTSA at 888-327-4236. Reference TSB No. SC117.
