CARS.COM -- The second generation of Volkswagen's Tiguan will make it to the U.S. in 2017, but in the meantime, VW unveiled an off-road-oriented Tiguan concept at the 2016 North American Auto Show in Detroit.

The GTE Active Concept wears giant nubby tires and rugged body cladding as well as front and rear aluminum skid plates, tow hooks and two roof-mounted LED spotlights. Check out the gallery below.
