Although it’s due for replacement in 2016, Audi’s A5 is still one of our favorites. Now Audi is launching the A5 DTM, a special edition honoring the company’s DTM racing efforts. Unlike most sport-themed specials, this one is powered by a V-6 diesel—which should be your first clue that it’s not coming to the U.S.

Based on the A5 3.0 TDI, the DTM packs a 245-hp version of Audi’s 3.0-liter V-6 turbo-diesel; it produces a whopping 428 lb-ft of torque, transferred to all four wheels via a seven-speed wet-clutch S-tronic. The powerplant sends the two-door coupe to 62 mph in just 5.9 seconds (according to Audi), and top speed is governed at 155 mph.

The A5 DTM emphasizes extreme sportiness with its matte-gray 20-inch wheels wearing 265/30-series tires, tinted rear windows, and a Misano red paint job highlighted with racing-inspired graphics. At night, the mirrors project a DTM logo onto the sidewalk. Inside, the special edition comes with RS seats, stainless steel pedals, Misano red trim, and a faux-suede steering wheel with a flat bottom.

Audi will make just 50 units of the A5 DTM. It follows similar DTM-themed specials from 2013 (A5) and 2005 (A4), none of which made it here.
