On 2015–2016 Ram 1500 pickups built within a three-month period this year, parts of the rear axle shaft may have been improperly heat-treated, which can cause the axle to overheat, wear, and fracture, and potentially a wheel to fall off. An ABS warning light may illuminate first prior to the axle shaft breaking. FCA said it knew of one accident without any injuries. Dealers will replace the axle at a later date. A total of 65,760 trucks are affected.

The 2015 Jeep Cherokee has air-conditioning lines that may be routed too close to the exhaust manifold and can catch fire. NHTSA opened an investigation in January after a single Cherokee owner notified the agency of a fire. According to the report, the “entire vehicle was engulfed in flames approximately 20 feet high within seconds of parking the vehicle.” FCA said it did not know of any reports of injuries or crashes. Dealers will replace the air-conditioning lines on 75,364 vehicles at a later date.
