2016 Honda Civic Sedan Starts at $19,475, Gets 42 MPG Highway Rating

Honda's compact car got a much more upscale look for 2016, but it's not all style over substance; the 2016 Honda Civic has some pretty impressive numbers backing up its sleek new style. When it goes on sale this fall, the Civic sedan will start at $19,475, including destination, and get a maximum rating of 42 mpg on the highway, according to EPA estimates. Base versions of the outgoing 2015 Civic sedan start at $19,310, including destination, and are rated at 36 mpg on the highway.

The base price of $19,475 is for the Civic LX sedan. LX and EX trims use a new 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. It's mated to a standard six-speed manual on base LX models or a continuously variable automatic transmission that's standard across the rest of the lineup. The EX-T, EX-L and Touring trim levels use a new turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine also mated to a CVT.

Base manual models get 27/40/31 mpg city/highway/combined; models equipped with the CVT get 31/41/35. Below is full trim-level pricing and fuel economy for the new sedan; all prices include destination.
