The new trim level adds standard safety features such as adaptive cruise control, blind spot warning system and forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking.

Like the more-expensive SE trim, which starts at $27,845 including a destination fee, the new Limited Edition has 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof and leatherette (vinyl) seats.

Like the S and SE trims, the Limited Edition sports a 170-horsepower, turbocharged 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine. It's mated to a six-cylinder automatic transmission.

The Golf SportWagen Limited Edition arrives in dealerships later this month.
